Ann, in 2000 we had GWB saying things such as Washington outsider, compassionate conservative, yaadi yaadi yaada. But soon, he started to flow with the tide once GWB got there. So this Washington outsider thing may sound very good and nice as a cry rally, but we all know what happens once people get there. So I agree with all you said in your post about changing America and Dean's message etc. But it needs to be done one step at a time. The first step is to get Bush out of the WH and get Kerry in the WH. The next step will be to get out of there and put someone like Dean in there either 4 years from now or 8 years from now. But the neocons are too strong and they would do anything to maintain the grip. Otherwise how do you explain that a person who went AWOL from the Air Natiional Guards can sell himself with a flak jacket flying onto a aircraft carrier. The only way to counter that is to have a real air piloy, a decorated war hero, one who knows what it is to send people into combat, one who will "exhaust every possible means" before sending young Americans to die in combat. And that is Kerry. And I will not be surprised, if Dean has had feelers already in that area. I mean that guy in the inetrview was so good, he came out flat and said that maybe it is not a good idea to have him on the ticket along with another New Englander. And then he proceeded to say that he would do anything the party told him to do. Now he is speaking like a hrdcore Democrat. I was very impressed with his ability to pull in a million dollars even when people and off course the press is reporting that his boat his sinking. As I said, Democrats do not annoint. They entrust and stand behind that person and that person always knows that he or she has to depend on the others' trust. Let us start to look ahead and brace for the Bush onslaught, save our Supreme court from Scalia, ensure that our children get to live longer by reinitiating sten cell research etc. etc.
