Is Bush the President you thought he would be when he was a candidate? I'm a lefty independent, but even I feel cheated comparing Bush the candidate to Bush the President. I expected continuing fiscal responsibility, with tax cuts returning some of the surplus. I expected a humble, isolationist foreign policy from a man who had never travelled overseas. I got over the 2000 election, and was even beginning to appreciate Bush after Afghanistan, when he pulled Iraq out of his ass and started beating that war drum.
