It's very easy. You simply go online, much like you do with Silicon Investor, and wire the money to your U.S. bank account. You can also do this by phone.

The wire fee is only AUD $25, or roughly $18.75 - a trifle for a person looking to deposit $100k CD money.
Your money is available here, to spend on whatever you like, within a few hours.
Actually it's here instantly, but your U.S. bank will probably take a few hours to update your account.

On $100k the difference between 2% locally and 5.25% offshore is obviously $3,250 per year, plus currency appreciation.
