Nobody has succeeded in confronting the USA and civilisation. So, when Pakistan is caught red-handed supplying WMDs or at least the process to build them, then the recipients of that largesse must feel a bit on the nervous side when the USA explains to them that they'll hand over the goods now or else. Or else has a very clear outcome. While the USA is theoretically all tired out after exertions in Afghanistan and Iraq, I wouldn't personally bet too much of my own neck that that's the case. Especially if they spied me polishing the nose cone of a noocular weapons related programme activity. Freeing the Iraqi and Afghan people is all very nice, but George Bush is right - the world is a safer place as a result of the invasions and international activities over the past decade starting with booting out Saddam from Iraq. The Indonesians were pushed out of East Timor too by Kiwi and Oz troops with USA support. The Indonesians agreed to back off, which is a better way of doing these things than actual fighting. International coalitions are quite convincing. China for example would perhaps be a bit circumspect about murdering a lot of Taiwanese if a convincing coalition of NUN majority arrayed against them in the debating chamber of parliament in, say, Baghdad which might be a good location for an HQ [avoid the parking problems and high costs of downtown Noo Yawk or Geneva]. It was nice to see Libya fold and Khan apologize. North Korea must be looking for a way out. I still think North Korea offering threat and resistance serves China's interests over Taiwan. Seeing Libya fold and Saddam surrender and his sons die and Osama and Omar scuttling for it will have chastened North Korea. They'll be looking for a way out. They don't want to be the next training grounds. They've seen the technology and troops in action. It must be quite frightening to have gps and laser guided munitions arrive through the keyhole of the back door. Mqurice
