From what I have heard, not saying its true as dont know personally, Kerry got his purple hearts for "wounds" that normally wouldnt even be reported as usually patched up at the field station. You know, things like scraped his knee type of stuff. Personally, I think the whole thing was trumped up so he could GET BACK to the World very fast. To me 3 purple hearts in less then 2 mos. is indicative that what I heard was true. Any kind of wound that amounted to ANYTHING would put you in sick bay for at least a couple weeks probably longer cause over in Nam the REAL ENEMY was INFECTION. Every kind of creepy crawly shitty thing was out there to get into an open wound. Thats why we took care of even a razor cut. Hey, maybe thats what he had. haha. JDN
