Listen to Enron Ed Gillespie's words then Sean Hannity's and down the line. Their point of attack is similar to these "Kerry traitor" sites, that is that Kerry is a phony anti-war radical wimp soft on defense, who is extremely liberal and out of touch with mainstream America, therefore not really patriotic at all. All total BS of course. The campaign they ran against Max Cleland in 2002 was similar, complete with comparing war hero Cleland to Osama and Saddam. In this case now, they are trying to link Kerry and Jane Fonda, not to mention Dukakis and Chappaquiddick (not Teddy Kennedy legislator but specifically Chappaquiddick). This is the heart of the dirty politics that the RNC sanctions on talk radio and on the web. There is nothing even close to this on the DNC side. Remember the DNC is not very liberal. They're centrists. But the RNC operatives are clearly in league with the most radical elements of the right. That's just a fact. And it's not a positive campaign at all, it's negative and about to get more and more negative. They're not offering reasons why we should re-elect Bush, just reasons why we should fear and hate Kerry.
