Yes but it was ruled for much of that period by Turks not by Arabs and when it was ruled by Arabs it still wasn't ruled by Palestinians.

It was ruled by Turkish Muslims. It was inhabited by Palestinian Arabs. Why does either data point give the Zionists the right to finesse the land away?

Both points where relevant to your specific argument. They showed how your point was irrelevant more then they addressed the wider question.

Its irrelevant who occupies a land? If that is your point, then please explain to me why we have given the Indians billions and many reservation acres?

However they do slightly touch on the wider question. The Israelis didn't conquer a Palestinian state and unlike the earlier Arab and Turkish overlords the Israelis have been willing to possibly allow such a state to come in to existence even if it means giving up a major fraction of the land they now control (which would not have been the case for the Turks or some of the other overlords of the region).

The land was never theirs to control......they took it. And there is more than one way to conquer a state. The Zionists did it by buying their way in through backroom diplomacy. In your world, that may be okay but for the rest of us it creates a problem. The Palestinians got unnecessarily screwed.

And now the very thing the Zionists wanted so badly they deny to their Palestinian neighbors. To do meanly what has been done to you is asking for major retribution. And the Israelis will get it........much worse than what's going on currently.

The Indians have received hundreds of millions of dollars in reparations and the Indians and their reservations are given a number of economic freebies. The Palestinians haven't done 1/1000000th as well.

The Indians where at time slaughtered and they where herded on to reservations.

Most Indians died from European diseases, not slaughter. Europeans were carriers of diseases because they had worked with pack animals. The Indians had not and therefore, did not have the European's immunities. Many Indian tribes lost 70% of their populations to European diseases like the measles. We did kill Indians but not in the numbers your post above suggests.

Their reparations and benefits are a pittance compared the amount of land they where forced to give up, and the reservations are more often then not places of poverty and dependence of the federal government.

That's assuming the entire US was theirs.....however, Indians occupied only a fraction of the land. Their overall populations were very small because they were nomadic hunters and not farmers. Without farm produce, they could not support very big populations. While they got screwed, its not because of the amount of land they got or the money. They were screwed by the white man's biases towards them that would not allow them to progress or to practice their culture as it had been practiced previously.

The best opportunity given to the Indians was assimilation in to a society dominated by non-Indians. The Palestinians certainly would not want assimilation in to a Jewish controlled state. Any Indians that did fight for any real independence where crushed not give a sovereign state under a peace treaty.

You've got it very wrong. Its the Israelis who are terrified of the Arabs getting assimilated into Israel. The Israelis would lose through demographics and Israel would become an Arab state. Why do you think Sharon is starting to reverse his position on the settlements? The Palestinian population is growing nearly twice as fast as the Israeli population. The Israelis will be outnumbered by the Arabs and Israel would no longer be a Jewish state.
