we got Medicare Reform already (oops, off by $150B)

continued reform will take the budget over the cliff
the appeal for votes and support of declining household balance sheets leads us to govt disaster

I see no way out

I have said steadily that Medicare Prescription Drug reform will result in a single line item of $1000 billion before 2015, the next ten years

combine appeal for votes, horrendous economic forecasting, general stupidity, and the political process of re-election, and you get a budget disaster
hey, let's not forget the war on false pretenses
