I am, indeed, of a Federalist bent. I think the strongest influence on me, though, may have been growing up in an ethnic area right after WWII. My family is from Eastern Europe. I was very affected as a youngster by this: <<"First They Came for the Jews" By Pastor Niemoller First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me. >> I am not a homosexual, but I can't let the majority disregard them so cavalierly.
