I've lived in Texas long enough to have a Cajun/Texas twang which becomes more noticible when I get excited or tired.

I speak some Cajun but sadly not enough. If I was raised in say St. Martinville, I'd be fluent. When and where I went to school, you were forbidden to speak it and since my parents were trying to do the right thing, we didn't speak it at home. My father was fluent, my mother only a little.

The accent does come out when I drink too!
