Yes, I agree he would save them from harm, and since I think he was only a charismatic man living 2000 years ago, I think he would have a bias against them, unless he was gay himself. Gayness was well known back then and I'm not sure whether gays were punished as adulterer's were. For example, I haven't read anywhere that gays are punished in the MidEast even though adulterous woman still are.
