The wireless games are getting much more interesting. VOD (Vodaphone) is reported considering bidding for VZ, likely as a way to acquire VZ wireless (VOD owns 20% of VZ wireless). Also is considering a bid for AWE, along with Cingular. There will be major consolidation this year. AWE still looks like the plum, having risen above the $11 take-out price originally offered in cash deal by Cingular. Bids are due by Friday (the 13th!)- this should be fun! no current position in telecoms, wished i had bought AWE when all this talk started. larry
