Party time, Yes CUBA is not a pure commie state, it has a lot of good medicine going on, good research. castro is now a geezer, and needs it.
I suspect that Cuba will change after castro dies and become a true democracy. The US wants corrupt stuff given back to US interests. That is to say, the dictatorship that gave resources to US firms is considered a valid government, whereas the Cuban revolutionary government who took those things away and entered into mutual agreements with different groups to develop them is now considered a valid transition government. This is a lot like those British owners who lost property after 1776. They whined and mewed, but in the end they lost their proeprty. Mostly to Washington cronies, they knew about Pork in those days too.

Cuba gets lots of stuff from other places, like Canada. Biggest problem is no domestic oil, so they use Tourism as a major $$ draw. That means you get a very good and cost effective vacation in Cuba.
