As of now I can’t say they are doing a terribly good job of it. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that we’re losing the war on terror in SE Asia, but we certainly aren’t winning it.

Again I agree with most of what you say...though I do believe progress is being made in SEA. At this point some of that progress is simply identifying the problem...but that is an important first step.

And it is not just in SE Asia and the ME. The terror problem is worldwide now. The final outcome is far from being settled.

While I don't believe we are yet winning, I am pleased that we finally entered the affray. We were a bystander suffering collateral damage for far too long.

To win this fight, we will have to fight. There are 150 million militant Muslims including 15 million extremists willing to attack us today. This thing is not going to be settled quickly.

In war unusual final outcomes are usual. I can visualize many possibilities some good, some bad, some terrible.
