Indeed I have asserted Dean's principal mistake was making Iraq the centerpiece of his campaign. The majority of Americans will ultimately agree with Pres Bush that his actions in Iraq were necessary. Bush's most vulnerable issue is jobs. If jobs have not returned in the millions by Nov, or if he has not mentioned plans to re-negotiate trade agreements that have caused the job loss, he very well may lose the election. Of course, something unforeseen like a devastating terrorist attack could negate economic issues with electorate.

Kerry is trying to make military service his rallying cry, but that's not voters primary concern. Domestic issues will gain the spotlight as voter feedback finally reaches both candidates up there in their ivory towers.
