Heinz may or may not know about shale oil...if he does he knows its all hype and not an economic replacement for crude.
The average of 10 gallons of oil out of a ton of shale mined is close to a zero sum as the energy to mine and process a ton of ore is close to the equivalent of that 10 gallons of oil.

BTW, Processing shale is nothing new, its been done for over 100 years..pilot plants have come and gone.
