That's a poor choice of words....There was nothing "sudden" about it....It has been the case for several years although the position was never a large percentage of net worth it peaked in early February of 2000 when I began divesting....If you want to assume, however, that I have my entire fortune embroiled in MTXX I don't mind. I've never understood the concept but some do relish the misery of others.... Re:<Person who's used nasal sprays like Afrin decides to try Zicam. Person sees Zicam comes in same bottle type as Afrin, and so assumes it's used the same way. Person inserts nozzle all the way into the nose and pumps. Ow, burn, no more smell. It's not going to be hard to sell a jury on that. > "So, why should I be required to read the directions, your honor? My cold was so ferocious I was in too big a hurry to read the 30 seconds of instructions.... Anyway, I had just taken Afrin and figured why should this be any different..." Yeah, I get that. Re:<So, MTXX's argument is going to be that all of the complainants were going to lose their sense of smell to the virus whether or not they used Zicam? That's going to be a tough sell. > No, what is a tough sell is to show how Zicam is the reason that said complainants lost their sense of smell in the first place. The burden of proof is on the plaintiff. And after all, just because 800,000 people who used the product didn't suffer anosmia, (or its sister illness amnosia<g> ), we can be absolutely sure that the root cause for this dozen who have been affected is specifically because they used Zicam. Why would anybody ever jump in front of a car, anyway, when all they have to do is buy a Zicam pump and scream "I can't smell". I knew that "I can't taste my beer commercial" was ominous....just didn't understand why. Here's one sufferers conclusion: I'm a 52yr. old female who recently lost my sense of smell and some loss of taste. I had a severe cold in the spring at which time I discovered I couldn't smell anything but thought after my cold I would regain my smell but I didn't.This occured in early June and for the next two months I couldn't smell anything, but later in the summer I could smell but it was horrible, things didn't smell like they were suppose to. Colas, bread, food cooking, perfumes, hair sprays, and the list goes on, smelled sickening to me.I can't describe the smell only to say it is a sickening distortion of the way they should smell. Now the taste of colas, chocolate and many other things taste horrible. I've had a cat scan and am waiting the results. In the messages from other people I haven't read where anyone has had this distoted(sic) smell of things. I would like to hear from anyone who might experience this terrible malfunction. xxxxxx(name blocked to protect the innocent)@digitalexp.com, USA - 24 Sep 2000 maxuk.net Somebody should tell her to buy a Zicam pump and join the lawsuit..... <Death by mixed metaphor? >Ha good one. Sounded better "than hoisted by my own sword"... :o) (Kevin, in another life we would be friends)
