You heard about this nutbag too didn't you? Must be a relative of Robertson's.

Pilot's sermon fails to take off

Julian Borger in Washington
Tuesday February 10, 2004
The Guardian

American air travellers have become accustomed, in recent years, to taking off their shoes and spreadeagling themselves for security checks, but they have drawn the line at being asked to reveal their religion by a pilot apparently on a mission from God.
The passengers on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York on Friday expected to hear the usual banter about the weather and cruising altitudes when the pilot introduced himself on the public address system.

Instead, he spread anxiety by challenging Christians to put up their hands and urging them to discuss their faith with the other non-believers on the flight.

Karla Austin, one of the passengers, told CNN: "He said if you're Christian, raise your hand. If you're not, you're crazy."

Tim Wagner, an American Airlines spokesman, said yesterday the pilot had not meant to imply that non-Christians were crazy but was referring to "the people who had stuck up their hands at the risk of embarrassing themselves".

Very few, if any, of the passengers did raise their hands, and most looked at each other in alarm, fearing they were being flown to New York by a religious fanatic. The flight crew were bombarded with questions about what was going on and later, the pilot spoke again. Jen Dorsey, another passenger, said that he apologised for putting the flight crew under pressure because of his comments.

Mr Wagner said: "American Airlines policy and our guidelines are to make everyone feel comfortable, and we realise we live in a very diverse world. American does apologise to anyone who was made to feel uncomfortable."

Funny how the biggest deficits in the last 50 years all seem to come under....Republicans.

What's wrong with this picture? Oh yeah, it's called comparing rhetoric to facts.

Hate-talk radio has dumbed down an entire generation, looks like.

First of all its not only the liberals fault but many politicians play the same tune pandering to those with their hand out.

Savage is smarter than most and it would do you some good to go read his new book.

The deficit began with programs that began with FDR and it has continually gotten worse. Socialism is not what this country was founded on.

W is not a true conservative as he blatantly disagreed when Tim Russert mentioned to him about this budget balloon.

Last but most importantly Bush is a Christian man and leads a life that exemplifies it.

Clinton and Kerry and the gang made deep cuts in military spending which depleted our military and its weapontry. I strongly know that the US needs to remain a military strength as this is the same reason the Wall came down during the Reagan years. Loth the military if you like but I for one don't want to have to defend my property but I will if I have to.

If you look back in history of tax cuts they create stimulation to the economy as even JFK would agree with that as he would be considered a conserative today.

I want to encourage you to go out and read "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. If we would all lead this kind of life it would be a better place as the government wouuldn't have to try to take of everyone like it appears society today seems to want.

You may call it propaganda I just call it the Truth which is hard to swallow sometimes.
