Resignation would be more appropriate.

"What do you want me to do, go over and kiss the camera?" asked O'Reilly, who had promised rival ABC last year he would publicly apologize if weapons were not found.

Particularly since he doesn't seem to be any wiser.

While critical of President Bush, O'Reilly said he did not think the president intentionally lied

I don't think you can count O'Reilly in the "Anybody but Bush" camp just quite yet. I have yet to ever see him make any sort of criticism of Bush without accusing Clinton of something which he alludes is 3 times worse than Bushes transgression. His is an all spin zone.
