Lizzie, if "book schooling" (as you call it, as if to further demonstrate your willful ignorance) were a point of evaluation, I agree that you would not fare well.

>we clearly have a dichotomy between economic statistics and reality

What are you basing this on? Are you channeling the shades of Thorstein Veblen and Vance Packard?

I cannot imagine what I stand to lose by being wrong. Any careful reading of my posts here would show I am not a Bush supporter, but neither am I a democrat. I think most of what I have posted over the last year has been a response to the depression that seems to have taken over many SI posters. What I have noticed is this depression has resulted in blame being tossed around carelessly - as you months ago blamed the elderly for prop 13, such that you wished SARS upon them - that was an unfortuntate post that I am sure you wish you could take back.

Mostly, in your case, I have been motivated by your illogic since I think it is strange for a math major to exhibit the logic skills of a high school graduate. In any case, I think if one attempts to undermine the conclusions of 300 years of economic thought you might want to throw in a little economics, rather than say the theories are flawed and/or the statisitcs are lies. But then again that is just me.

However, considering we are about the same age, I am willing to overlook all that if you really are a wealthy woman.
