What we need to do, from MTV viewers through my mother's generation, is wrap up the entire kit and kaboodle of all connected with the Bush Admistration and send them straight out of power, at minimum.

You willing to do your part, Ms. Tudor?

the economy is so fragile that raising rates could drive us back down

The economy is still in recession, but the falling value is being hidden by an equal fall in the value of the dollar. It makes it appear that activity is flat but stable, but that is only when measured in the constantly losing dollar.

A raise in rates would make the GDP numbers as measured in dollars fall, but the dollar itself would stabilize and so the real value in america would stay pretty much the same. It probably would hit the stock market which is rising only because it represents fairly constant assets while ,again, the measuring stick, the dollar, is falling.
