I have seen O'Reilly interviewed on other shows- for example a Tim Russert interview with O'Reilly once where he said the man he most admires is RFK. The blowhard persona he uses on his show is real, but it is overblown in the Fox tradition. I am actually not surprised he is backing away from Bush now. He was calling for someone to be fired last August.

O'Reilly represents semi-conservative swing-voters who voted Bush in 2000 and GOP in 2002 but now feel very uneasy about trusting Bush-Cheney again. Kerry and a strong moderate running mate are just the ticket to win those people over, at least most of them.

Considering what O'Reilly had to say this morning on national TV, I again took my tetanus shot and watched the opening of his personal TV show tonight....and I was shocked!! Basically, he said he would probably be criticized by his followers but that he was going to start giving fair and balanced coverage to Bush and Kerry until the election. Spin it anyway that you want, but O'Reilly is slamming BUSH and showing in a very blatant way that he is upset with Shrub. The rats are fleeing the boat!!

I just heard; I'm amazed as well!
