The terrorists first struck on US soil in 1993. Subsequently, the Clinton Administration took measures to ensure that further terrorist attacks did not take place on US soil. They increased border surveillance and apprehended several of those trying to enter the US across the Canadian border. At he same time, they also took measures to strike at terrorist dens in Afghanistan, Sudan etc. There were several hit and run as well as hide and seek encounters between the US agents and the terrorists on foreign soil. And all this went on without much impact to the US economy. The Clinton Administration ensured that while they kept flushing out the terrorists, they could simultaneously provide for the economic needs of the nation. They succeeded in doing so along with the cooperation of other nations. We did not have the suspension of International flights, the suspension of civil liberties due to acts such as the Patriot act etc. Out goes the liberal Clinton Administration and in comes the conservative Bush Administration. While the Bush Administration chooses to engage in running down and breaking down the Clinton legacy (missing W keys, towels etc, in the WH) and while Bush is busy taking a month long vacation at his ranch during the first year in office instead of being hard at work on his job like every new employee is expected to do, the terrorists sneak into the country from the Canadian border, something they failed to do several times during the Clinton era. Then the rest we know. To make matters worse, the Bush Administration severed all their ties with the world community, the very ties that Clinton cultivated to help the US fight terrorism worldwide. And in a Rambo like fashion, Mr. Bush decided to go it alone causing a great deal of hardship for the citizens of this country by way a deteriorating economy, decay of the State budgets etc. Clinton, a liberal, was a smart man. He harnessed the might of this nation in the area of high technology and defense superiority to effectively fend off terrorism and keep it at bay from US shores. The Bush Administration, who do not have the ability to differentiate between potato chips and silicon chips, have brought this nation to the doorsteps of disaster. It is time they go. It is all about Bush's record for the past 4 years. Not what Kerry did with marrying into wealth or being photographed with Jane Fonda or using undue influence to having a fire hydrant moved etc. Those are non issues to Americans who are struggling to bring the bacon to the table.
