Mish, our US rates head on a path to zero, but dont arrive
but the path gets interrupted by the Asians at some point
that is an assumption you just take as granted
it will not happen

eventually, all of Asia barfs up USTBonds
we do not control that decision
it will be based on their inability to fund our needs
and their unwillingness to trade goods for shit paper

do you believe China and Japan and Taiwan and Korea and Singapore will just trade finished goods for bond paper forever, all the way up the US Econ Liquidity Trap rectum ???

I for one do not
the falling USDollar will be Chinese torture for the Chinese
we underestimate the Chinese Govt's resolve
they have some but not total reluctance to inflict some pain within their own borders
remember, they are not elected, and dont worry about re-election

I liken it to being in a very bad extra-marital affair
the sex might be good, very good
but your partner is a nuisance, self-destructive
you dont trust her
she is into all kinds of dangerous shit
you suspect her home is full of ghosts and booby traps
after a few years, you beg off
you get tired of enjoying her front door
so you eventually exit her back door
even though you miss the sex
and you hunker down with your ole lady again
for China, that is domestic demand

On bonds, or general stocks, or mining stocks or what? Or all of them? <g>
