IMO, if Kerry becomes the nominee, I predict the stock market will retreat. Investors derive confidence when the future is sure and certain. Id Sharpton is the nominee, then the stock market will continue to surge ahead. But not with Kerry.

.....Kerry is now in the strange position of deriving political benefits from a brief continuation of the Democratic competition, since every primary victory against credible opponents keeps him in the headlines. Edwards, in particular, is not the kind of rival apt to say anything about Kerry that would damage the front-runner in a battle with Bush. But whether the arena is Wisconsin or the nine states, including California and New York, holding primaries on March 2, the remaining challengers appear to have been diminished to mere sparring partners for the eventual Democratic nominee.
