Elliot Abrams is apparently "head of the Middle East desk at the National Security Council", I think that post was chosen because it doesn't require Senate confirmation. news.google.com didn't show anything on him except for a planned trip to Israel. He seems relatively invisible, not that that's unusual in the Cheney / Rumsfeld inner circle. Rumsfeld is a grandstander, but Cheney himself mostly sticks to the bunker. Poindexter is another story; he seems to have gone mostly underground too. A search on him turns up various stories on son-of-TIA schemes taking shape outside of public view.
