Jim were you thinking that the cost of holding an financial asset that depreciated 10% short term is cheaper than having millions unemployed and paying them unemployment or having crime rate increase and spend money on the same population by keeping them in jail??? Well each coin has 2 sides - evaluate China position if they gain or loose at the end. .......... my bet is that at the end is cheaper for them to buy US paper which can be hedged and ......... more so at a time they control the printing of their own currency
