I have no firm opinion on Vietnam. I was against it as a teenager, but began to wonder whether I was right after watching as Pol Pot came to power in Cambodia, and decimated the population; as boat people risked the open seas to escape the brutality of the Vietnamese regime, in the hope of reaching Hong Kong; as Vietnam invaded Cambodia, and was applauded because of the evil of Pol Pot's regime; and other such things. What I do know is that we lost for political reasons, and that if we intervened, we should have invaded the North, or, at a minimum, cut off the supply lines of the Ho Chi Minh trail much earlier than the Nixon Administration........
