That's about the way I see it also. There always seems to be a number of throw away issues which serve no other purpose than to distract idiots. I doubt many politicians really give a rip about some of these goofball issues, but as long as they are able to appeal to ignorance and prejudice, the people are distracted enough to allow the con artists to go about their practice of collecting the usuals.
