"Many gays take pride in grossing people out. Heterosexuals are far more discreet in public."

There is a portion of the gay community, I don't know how large, that is so disgusting that until it is repudiated by the larger community, no hope for gays really exists.

When I lived in D.C. there was an annual gay parade, and yes, many went out of their way to shock. You would see them on the Metro. Not something you see in "How to Win Friends and Influence People."

But what really got to me is the Columbia Island Marina. It is just behind the Pentagon, and I would put my kayak in to spend a day tossing plastic worms at the bass in the creek that ran from it. Great creek, I pulled largemouth up to 8 pounds out of it.

What went on in that area was unreal, to the point where I kept my filet knife in view in hopes people would refrain from propositioning me while I put in and fished. It was truly incredible. To think a man can't even fish in peace.

Needless to say, that beautiful park, maintained by millions of dollars a year, was avoided like the plague by people with children. It had been confiscated by deviants.
