All the UN security council was asking for was a few more months of inspections. If inspectors had found WMD's then they would have supported an invasion. But of course they would not have found anything so the invasion would not have happened. That would open up a new debate. Spend 200 billion minimum plus potentially thousands of lives to invade or not? One big chnk of BS the Bushies gave us was that the war would only cost 50 billion and the Iraqi Oil would pay for it.
