OT - Bill Bryson

Bill Bryson is a funny writer (Walk in the Woods, Notes from a Small Island, etc.) but is definitely worth taking with a large grain of salt. For example, he earnestly wrote about discovering a 1600 year old mosaic in the ruins of a Roman villa in the Cotswolds and (to his credit) in later printings noted the ruins were those of a Victorian reproduction. He exaggerates nearly everything and the result is extremely entertaining.
