Hi Jay,
What helps me sleep nights when the puts look exercisable is the thought that I can simply accept my "defeat", let the guy on the other side force me to buy the shares, on margin if I don't have enough of the ready on hand, then turn around and sell calls on the just purchased shares. Also, say you sell a put with strike price 42.50 for $1.50. The stock has to get down to 41 before you start to have a losing deal. Listen to me; I'm an expert. I learned it all from Jay Chen, a mirror image of you.
Chugs,
Malcolm
