Remember the old joke about the guy who's on vacation and calls up to see how things are going?

His friend, who's taking care of his home for him says, "your cat died."

The guy calling is very upset and complains that his friend should have broken the news gently, over a couple of days, first saying the cat's OK but stuck on the roof, then on the next day say that the cat fell off the roof but is at the vet, and finally break the news (3 days later) that the cat has died.

When they guy then asks "how's Mom?" his friend replies, "she's on the roof."

I think Intel is telling us that Itanium is "on the roof."
