It's obvious that his massive ego was stepped on-as often happens in large enterprises-when it became clear to him that he wouldn't become the dominant talking head. The fact that those who DID are generally morons like Brokaw, Rather and Jennings, probably also frustrated O'Reilly (who is not a moron) to the point where he had to walk away. So he walks away from the networks AS WELL AS their prevailing anti-American religion. Yet he can't be the next Limbaugh (or even Hannity, for that matter), either. So he keeps just enough of his liberal young-fool sentiment ("I'm an 'independent' thinker, criticizing the right as well as the left."). That would explain his wasting several shows railing against an "all-white prom" in some backward small town in Georgia, and insisting that the back-stabbing movement during Vietnam was "right at the time", even though that SAME back-stabbing movement against America in its latest war-with world Islam-is what it really is. Add in his irrational mental-block about the failure of drug prohibition (as well as his maintaining that military assets sent to Afghanistan to fight the Islamic enemy should be diverted against the opium planters), and it's easy to see why he can't understand the pure stupidity of a military barrier on the southern border. Last but not least, his male-menopause nostalgia for his young, stupid liberal years leaves him with another important mental-block which causes him to adopt every whacko environmental idiocy to come out of the fever swamps of pseudo-science ("This country is filthy, FILTHY!!!") But, overall, he serves a valuable purpose in our desperate war with our domestic enemy: He is RIGHT, and sometimes even profound, about 60% of the time. When he's not confusing fans by making an ass of himself, he's blindsiding the anti-Americans and exposing them as the worthless, visionless, fraudulent cretins they are. Bottom line: We could do a lot WORSE than Blowhard Bill O'Reilly-as decades of the history of the anti-American "establishment" media have proved...
