It will be a tough race but I'd put my money on Kerry.
He's one of those guys who the tougher it gets, the tougher he gets. He showed that in Iowa where he was all but written off.

So far, all the GOP attacks (and the Dean attacks) have failed to really lay a glove on him. If you listen to Sean Hannity's radio show it's a non-stop RNC attack line try-out against Kerry. Interesting to see what they're trying to to to "define" Kerry. Painting him as weak on defense mostly. Hard to paint a legit war hero who's 6'4" as weak on defense. Especially when your candidate skipped on duty.
Look at this.

"The White House has been unable to produce peers from Bush's service in Alabama. But Bill Burkett, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Texas National Guard, said in an interview with The Washington Post this week that he overheard a speakerphone call about Bush's National Guard file in 1997, when Bush was Texas governor. Burkett said he was in a National Guard office when he overheard Joseph M. Allbaugh, then Bush's chief of staff, tell an officer in reference to Bush's military file that he "needed to make sure there was nothing to embarrass the governor."

Burkett said he later witnessed some items from Bush's file in the trash. Bush officials and Allbaugh denied these allegations." heh heh

Kerry voted for the tax cuts, the Patriot Act, the war with Iraq, and the No Child Left Behind legislation. Now he's against them all. But this is typical of Kerry's career.

He is against gay marriage now but was for it a couple years ago. Now he is for the death penalty but Hannity recently played a tape of Kerry from a few years ago oppposing the death penalty for terrorists.

John Kerry will tell you what he thinks - YOU WANT TO HEAR.
