Clinton received 49.2% of the popular vote in 1996.

BTW, in '96 I voted for Bob Dole, a Great American! I will vote for John Kerry this year; another Great American!

This is a democracy where we elect a President based on the majority vote. Clinton got the majority of both the popular vote and the electoral college. Did Bush?
