Whether it's a good thing, bad thing, or travesty, is irrelevant. This is simply a fact of politics in 2004. I can't understand why anyone would imagine they could keep ANYTHING secret.

Here's what anyone running for high office should be doing today - write a book detailing EVERTHING wrong, questionable, illegal, embarrassing, you've ever done in your entire life. Explain why you regret doing it, and what you've learned from the experience. If there is anything that's too painful to discuss in public, find another career.

Then if someone tries to make something up about you, you just point to the book and say, if it ain't in the book, I ain't done it.

Why? Who knows. Perhaps the French and others are correct about out lack of sophistication.

I suggest the French are already morally corrupt. If Nadine believes we(who are we?) do not care of the moral conduct of our neighbors and business associates she is apparently living in the wrong society. KM
