The GOP is desperately trying to hold its base now by going extremely negative. They are literally paying no attention to the truth to do it. It's a risky strategy as they may be turning off more people than they're convincing.

Some of Allan Greenspan's comments to Senate Banking Comm today:
--There are lots of losers & gainers in U.S. economy of creative destruction.
--human ingenuity will eventually create millions of new U.S. jobs, *if I'm not wrong,* as it always has in past.
--congress should reinstate federal spending caps.
--he repeated "I expect reasonably good job growth in near
future."

He & Pres Bush have 9mos--if jobs situation is still weak, get ready for John & Teresa(a very scary thought).

P.S. Gregory Mankew just issued a statement clarifying his remarks re exporting jobs.
Minutes ago Lou Dobbs had a terrific 'heated' discussion on job outsourcing with man named Glassman. There's usually a Dobbs replay later in evening, if you missed it.
