Fred,

Not a full fledged "techie", but I will start the discussion.

1. The specs in the article indicated that CMOS light transmission probably would never require leading edge line widths.

2. The advantages of photonic transmission between and within CMOS devices (ICs) would probably require increased processing capability to handle higher bit data bandwidths and that will require leading edge line widths.

So, I think it is a positive development for AMAT.
