The best thing for the free trade people is to come up with a policy wrt free trade now, and publicize it immediately before this issue blows, seriously.

John Zogby was on tv a few weeks ago and he said that in early 02, nearly 50% of voters considered themselves a member of the "investor class" and recently that number has dropped to less than 30% which in statistical polling terms is a huge dropoff. He says the pollees say that they are still invested, but not aligned with the interests of management anymore since USA management seems to be manageing for the few at the expense of the many. This poll was a few weeks ago. This is the kind of thing that needs to be headed off before real damage is done. Of course the current congressional and corporate leaders can continue with their "let them eat cake" stance, but that will kill them in a few mos, I suspect.
