No, the two mutations were from the anti-virals and other mutations are probably due to a weak vaccine.

These are mutations that have evolved in the past few years and are well into the man made category (and hiding human cases in China will lead to more problems).

I just re-read tomorrow's MMWR and the mutations are in isolates from Vietnam AND Thailand

Thus, a few months ago there were no H5N1 isolates at GenBank with anti-viral mutations at either site. Now there are mutations at both sites in the Vietnam isolate and it sounds like the Thailand isolates have the same mutations.

This is all VERY recent. It's human and it's China.
