>>>From an Iraqi point of view, Bush's lies about WMDs in Iraq was dishonest.>>
Are you having a bit of problem here Bilow?. You should try harder to stay current with the latest news. No lies by Bush, others have already confessed to the filthy crime of misreading intelligence data.

<<< The Iraqis see Bush's claims to care about the Iraqi people were proven to be more than just an extreme exaggeration when he ordered US troops to only guard Iraq's oil facilities from looting.>>>
Well gosh, it seemed at the time to be a good idea, since about the only source of income left in Iraq to rebuild the government is the oil production. If you seach your memory really hard you may remember that the oil fields were wired with explosives. And harking back to Desert Storm there were some good photos of 800 burning oil wells.

>>> Before Bush, two other American presidents treated Iraq very roughly, and enforced sanctions after Iraq had, as is now beginning to be admitted, destroyed their WMDs.>>>
Yes, we could have vetoed those 17 UN Resolutions and given Saddam his freedom to pursue his dream of nuclear power. Or somehow figure a way to convince the UN that he actually was in compliance with them so we could declare the 1991 war over and bug out of the area and assume he would not take over Kuwait again.

>>> The Iraqis also see the US as meddling in Iraqi domestic affairs in that we are trying to set up an Iraqi government that wuvs us.>>>
You call tanks rolling into in Baghdad and the deck of cards targeting all the high level government officials as "meddling " in domestic affairs?
Thats close to the truth, Bilow, damn close. I am impressed.

<<< And finally, the Iraqis almost universally see us as an ally of Israel, a country that they (according to polling) feel was the only justifiable cross-border attack that Saddam made. >>>
I haven't heard many people here deny that. Is it time for a change? Support the Pals, give Arafat some nukes ?

<<<So are the Iraqis stupid? I don't think the average Iraqi is any stupider than most of the posters on this thread, LOL. >>>
Well,. heck, nobodies perfect, but each person has his
own unique qualifications.
Even I can see that if we left Iraq tomorrow, there would be mad rush to those 800,000 tons of arms stored in the depots. And the Baaths, who know where the most potent stuff is stored, would win in the end. Saddam is in the jug, so perhaps they could find OBL (who they seem to like)and make him President. Put things back to normal.
