If he made analogous characterizations about African-Americans or Asian-Americans that he makes about lower-middle class whites, would it still be "hilarious"?

Oh, it's perfectly acceptable to make these kinds of remarks about white people.

On a similar subject I recently did the pre-press for the pictures that will be used in a local mutual fund company Annual Report. Out of 24 pictures, 90% of the people pictured were African-American or Asian. They're located in a city which is 62% African-American so this would sort of seem normal except I've actually been there a few times and there's no shortage of old white guys that work there. They made the picture choices reflect a reality which doesn't exist. You have to wonder for what purpose?

It's the exact opposite of an experience that I had years and years ago while working as an assistant, shooting pictures for a local Jewish hospital where we were asked to shoot pictures of the ER waiting room and make sure that the pictures didn't include too many African-Americans (they didn't use that word) in the pictures. We opened up the door to the waiting room to see a sea of dark faces with no Caucasians to be had.

I keep waiting for a time when people can begin to deal with people as people and stop being so racially conscience to the point of a fetish. We seem to be further away than ever.

Who says he was talking about whites? I guarantee there are as many (or more) people of color who are going to take advantage of those programs. He was making fun of Fannie and the securitization industry getting set to rape the taxpayer (whether that's funny or not depends on your sense of humor, I suppose....since I think we deserve it for ignoring this stuff for, well, forever, I think it's hilarious).

OT Oblomov, I was a tad surprised no one commented on this:

"Everybody knows how the guys go out at night in search of someone like Katrina on “The Apprentice”. A tall, exotic, thin, Large Breasted Wonder with long, straight hair."

Gender stereotyping.
