The AWOL smear stems from the period September to December, 1972, when Bush was temporarily assigned to a non-flying billet in the Alabama Air National Guard while he was managing the U.S. Senate campaign of Winton Blount. He missed some scheduled drills, but made them up later, as regulations permit, and which was common practice then and now.

That is the issue. Where are the records of what he did in Alabama. I thought AWOL meant that. And the time period is also in question. It is an insult to military folks when they are court martialled for being AWOL whereas Bush get sthe Presedency for doing so.

Bushie negative campaign eroding Bush's approvals more.
The trust issue is getting worse not better for Bush.
I guess the White House seees it's only hope as spending the full boatload of cash they have on trying to assassinate JFK's image before people get a chnce to discover the positive truth about Kerry. IMHO this Bushie plan will backfire bigtime. Bill O'Reilly is already backing away from Bush. Limbaugh is discredited. Hannity and Drudge may be next to have their credibility decapitated completely.
