That concept would assume forward thinking abilities and patience. Those that fit that description have no reason in the universe to participate on SI.

LOL .. start a 'day traders thread' ..
by definition the trades that don't
work-out become 'investments' <gg>

Larry
the vast majority of people "invest"

but most of them do not post all the time on sites like this

other than Carl, no one has yet to stand up here with new ideas, for any length of time

so there may be a message in that

Larry, you can Invest in any stock you want too. investing vs trading is time holding times right?

I'm sure many ppl here buy and hold some stocks longer term either via IRAs or mutual funds or regular accounts. It's easy to say just buy and hold as long as the market is going up.... but how did you respond in 2000-2002 when the market was going straight down? Did you change invest style or hold everything through the downside?

If a stock you own now with a profit started to fall with no signs of recovery would that trigger a sell? My guess is most ppl trade maybe not dt, but shorter term holdings. I recall Ed saying he bot basket of stocks in the Fall for the January bounce. Still holding all those?

Each person has to evaluate what fits and what comfort level they want. The purpose is to generate ideas and let each person decide on how long to hold. Since I can't say what the market will be 6 months from now I'd rather do trades just in case the unexpected happens.

Ron: Larry has posted several stocks he owns and/or interested in. I'm trading some of the same ones over and over just like you. No need to post TASR or TOY or SMTC if those are being traded the same way from day to day. If anyone see a stock they think is a good buy or short post it here. I encourge those who comment to say what the like or don't like in the market.
