Kirk, Chinese businessmen have no scruples about copying products and selling them. The enforcement of IP rights
in China, as a condition of belonging to the WTO, is a
sham. Why innovate when you can steal the IP and
manufacture a clone. By the time the law is eventually enforced the company has made millions and just closes its' doors, out of business. No compensation paid, millions made, and bribes to officials to look the other way. Business as usual.
There is a chance that the old Cyrix chip was a model for
an upgraded processor. The Chinese don't want to pay
western prices for technology, they tend to buy older
technology and push it to get more performance. BB
