They are a hedge for an orderly decline. But if things turn really ugly say ala '87 then everything will get hit. But unlike '87 I expect gold stocks to come back pretty fast if that happened and stocks to resume their decline.

Sorry it took so long, I've been in a meeting since 10 A.M., glad it's over. AFA NXG, I think it has less to drop because it's been a lager, therefore a little more safe. The other majors like NEM will probably be hurt much more, but recover soon after. Golds are not my specialty, I am more often wrong than right.
