I tell you what. Take a small virtual trip into space and then think about what you would see if you could capture the image of all the tail pipes and all the fossil fuel power plants, boats planes etc etc spewing away all the time day and night and remember that this is happening on an ever increasing exponential rate of speed, it shouldn't take anyone very long to understand that the end of fossil fuel will be upon us much sooner than we expect.
And if you don't believe me then do a little Google searching using the appropriate terms for yourself.

You can try searching terms like,

world oil council or
oil reserves Bill Powers or
oil and gas Journal
The coming oil crisis Dr.ColinCampbell

It is my opinion that what these guys are saying now will be restated within a couple years, but with their remaining reserve estimates cut in half again.
The up side is we have the ability to switch to other power sources but the will probably won't be there in time.
I believe there's going to be a period where we are all going to be a lot healthier as we will be riding our bikes a lot and only eating local fruits, vegis, fish and meats.
It blows my mind how the powers to be allow us North Americans to import beef and apples from New Zealand and send them the same.
We are truely all a bunch of ding bats.

NO offence, but thats the way I see it.

Gotta go
