D. Rather will find it newsworthy only if (a) it turns out to be true; and (b) it has been on other news outlets every night for two months. Then he will put a brief mention of it, 22 minutes into his newscast (when most viewers are either asleep or taking a dump), and spin it as unfair RWE prying into a candidate's personal life.

I still remember his coverage on Election night 2000. He was elatedly announcing at 7 pm Eastern (an hour before the polls in Pensacola closed) that Gore had won Florida, and the implications clearly were that he would win the election. About six hours later when it looked like Bush had won, he looked like he was going to cry. Or maybe it was just his allergies.....
